Mr. Robert "Bob" F. Repasky

Robert "Bob" F. Repasky of Lorain, Ohio passed away on October 19, 2014 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake, Ohio.

Robert was the beloved brother, cousin and uncle to many who will miss him dearly. He was born in Meadville, PA on December 29, 1947 to his parents, Anthony (1911-2007) and Clara Repasky (1919-2000) as the 2nd of six brothers, Albert, Robert, Harold, Bernard, Kenneth and William. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Bernie.  Bernie died in a tragic fire in his home October 3, 2009.

He is survived by brothers, Albert "Al" and sister-in law, Patricia; Harold "Hal" and sister-in law, Marnie; Bernie's wife, sister-in-law, Linda; Kenneth "Ken" and sister-in-law, Cheryl; and William "Will" and sister-in-law, Susan; many cousins whose Patriarch is Nicholas "Nick" Kraus; and is the beloved Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews scattered all over the United States.

Bob grew up and had a wonderful childhood in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1965 where he lettered in high school wrestling. He spent 4 years in the Navy during which time he completed two tours of duty on the Aircraft Carrier the USS Independence during the Vietnam War. Bob graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, in 1974, with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. He was unmarried and lived in Lorain, Ohio for the past 40 years. Robert started his career as a math teacher in Lorain at Longfellow Junior High from 1974 to 1981. He then took a position as a 10th grade mathematics teacher at Vermilion High School until he retired in 2000. Bob was an assistant wrestling coach at both Longfellow Junior H.S and Vermilion High School. Bob also was a volunteer for over ten years for the Cardiac-Pulmonary Rehab Center at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan throughout his time living in Ohio, despite all the team's ups and downs. Robert enjoyed traveling and made many trips to California, Colorado, Texas and Pennsylvania with his parents before their deaths and also traveled a few times with friends to Europe. He was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain for the past 40 years. Bob was also a long standing member of the Ohio Education Association, the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and a Life member of AMVETS Post 22. He succumbed to a terminal Lung Disease diagnosed in 2011.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 5-7 PM and Friday, October 24, 2014, from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM.  Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2014, at St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 E Erie Avenue, Lorain, Fr. Richard E. Hudak, Pastor, officiating. Christian burial services will be held at St. James Cemetery in Crossingville, PA, with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to St. Anthony of Padua in Lorain.
