Mr. Lester J. Bring

Lorain-Lester J. Bring, 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH.

He was born July 22, 1925 in Sheffield, OH and attended Brookside High School.  Mr. Bring enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was a convoy driver in the "Red Ball Express" serving in France and Germany. Lester was honorably discharged in 1946. On September 13, 1947, he married his beloved Helen Y. (nee: Grasso). Lester worked for the Norfolk and Western Railroad for 49 years and was a member of St. Peter's Church in Lorain, OH. He loved his family and cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Bring is survived by his son, Dale (Mona) Bring, Esq. of Gahanna, OH; grandchildren, Dean (Ashley) Bring, Esq. of Upper Arlington, OH and Dr. Benjamin (Miranda) Bring of Upper Arlington, OH; and great grandchildren, Blaine Nathaniel Bring and Milena Noelle Bring.

Special friends include Mike and Pat McDermott of Amherst, Ohio and a special thanks to the kind and caring sisters at St. Therese Villas in Columbus, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years of marriage, Helen Y. Bring; and his parents, Edward and Christine (nee: Alten) Bring.

The family will receive friends at ReidyScanlanGiovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 PM and 5:00-7:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at St. Peter's Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH 44053, Fr. Gerald J. Keller, officiating. Christian burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH where military honors will be performed by the Lorain Honor Guard.
