Mr. William Santiago Sr.

Lorain - William Santiago Sr., 67, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Willie worked at York International for over fifteen years and was also known to many friends as Bill.

He is survived by his wife Felicita Santiago; children, Linda Santiago-Ali, William Santiago Jr, Wilkins Santiago, Daynamar Santiago-Tournas and Tania L. Santiago; brothers, Luis Jr., Angel, Hector, Victor and Edwin Santiago; twenty-two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and loving family in Chicago, Michigan and Puerto Rico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis A. Santiago Sr. and Margarita Olivero-Santiago; and brother, Heriberto Santiago.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH (440) 244-1961 on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 3:00 PM until the time of closing prayers at 6:00 PM. Christian burial services will be held at a later date in Puerto Rico.

David Allen Arroyo

Lorain - David A. Arroyo, 64, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017. 

He was born in Lorain, OH on November 10, 1952 to his loving parents, Charles and Joan (nee Letizia) Arroyo.

He graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1971 and continued his education at Akron University graduating with a BS and MS degrees in education. David worked as a teacher for a short time at St. Anthony of Padua in Lorain and Hawthorne Boone before completing his teaching career of 28 years at Whittier Middle School. Mr. Arroyo taught history and for a short while was the Building Manager at Whittier. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Lorain where he was the treasurer for the golf league. David was also a member of Club West and Stayfit24 in Lorain. He enjoyed reading, keeping up with current events, golfing, bowling, listening to music, and was a well known figure at the New York Deli.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Arroyo of Columbus; mother, Joan Arroyo of Lorain; brothers, Dean (Sharon) Arroyo of Lorain and Dan (Laurie) Arroyo of Elyria; grand-dog, Duke; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Arroyo.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 E. Erie Ave, Lorain with former Pastor, Fr. Joseph West, O.F.M., Conv., officiating. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
