Mrs. Rosemary P. DiFilippo

Lorain- Rosemary P. DiFilippo (nee: Magazzine), 82, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lorain, Ohio on June 18, 1931 to her loving parents, Samuel and Mary (nee: D'Adario) Magazzine.

She graduated with a Masters Degree in Education from Kent State University and was an elementary school teacher in the Lorain City Schools for 33 years. Since faith, family, friends and education were very important to Rosemary, throughout her life she served in the following capacities: adjunct faculty member for Ashland University through the partnership program with LCCC in which she supervised and mentored students pursuing careers in education; active member of St. Peter Church in Lorain where she was an RCIA and PSR Teacher; President of the Band Booster and President of the Women's Club at Lorain Catholic; member and officer of the Lorain Education Association; and officer of International Reading Association. She married her husband, Quintino in 1955 and they were blessed in raising their four children. Rosemary enjoyed cooking for family and friends, water aerobics and spending time with her grandchildren, which brought her the most joy.

She is survived by her loving children, Quintino A. DiFilippo, Fred (Marla) DiFilippo, Frank (Ana) DiFilippo and Julimarie (Mark) Mishak: and grandchildren, Madeline and Nick DiFilippo; Francesco DiFilippo and Christian Quiles; Mark II and Michael Mishak.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Quintino G. DiFilippo; parents; brothers, Michael (Sarah) and Joseph (Dolores) Magazzine; and nephew, Mark Magazzine.

The family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Visitation on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 11:00 to 11:30 AM at St. Peter Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM with Fr. Robert Glepko, officiating and Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, con-celebrating. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter School.
