Gabriel V. DiLuciano

Lorain - Gabriel V. DiLuciano, 90, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.

Gabriel was born on August 8, 1926 in Lorain, OH to his loving parents, Dominic and Candita (nee Tardio) DiLuciano.

He attended Lorain High School from 1941 - 1944 and entered the U.S. Army in 1945, during WWII, serving as a Military Policeman, and Gabriel was honorably discharged in 1946. Gabriel married his beloved, Constance Claire (nee Cerne) on September 29, 1951 and they raised four loving children. He worked at U.S. Steel as a pipefitter retiring in 1982 after 36 years of service. Gabriel also worked part time at the Broadway Building in maintenance to provide for his family. He enjoyed solving the jumble word puzzle in the morning while eating breakfast with close friends and he loved playing golf into his early 80's. 

He is survived by his children, Mark (Michelle) DiLuciano, Greg (Elizabeth) DiLuciano, Michele Kaffee, and Scott (Janet) DiLuciano; brother-in-law, Dominic DeAngelis; and sisters-in-law, Francis DiLuciano and Eleanor DiLuciano; granddaughters, Alex DiLuciano and Meredith Kaffee; and step-grandchildren, Jeremy Kirsch and Jessica Benford.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dominic and Candita DiLuciano; wife, Constance DiLuciano in 1977; brothers, Serafin, Ferdinand and Albert DiLuciano; and sisters, Victoria DeAngelis and Antoinette Mullins.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10:00 AM, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor of St. Peter Parish, officiating. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where military honors will be performed by the U.S. Army.
