Mrs. Jane M. DurJava

Lorain- Jane M. DurJava (nee: Kelley), 84, passed away following a longtime illness on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born in Lorain, OH on April 12, 1930 to her loving parents, John J. and LaVerne (nee: Ault) Kelley.

She graduated from St. Mary Academy, Class of 1948. Jane was Diocesan Certified for the Ministry of Consolation and Diocesan Certified to teach CCD and taught at St. Mary, St. Peter and St. Anthony Schools in Lorain. She was employed at Joseph & Feiss and later at New York Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1989. Jane was a member of St. Anthony of Padua and was active in her parish as a eucharistic minister of communion, a member of the kitchen crew,  the Sanctity of Life Committee, Marian Guild, Senior Sociables, and member of the Third Order of Franciscans St. John Vianney Fraternity. She was a past member of Serra International Organization.

She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Dye and Susan (Don) Flak; grandchildren, Dennis Dye, Dale "Kris" Dye, Diana Dye, Debbie Dye, John Kernaghan, Kelly Flak and Corbin Flak; step granddaughter, Sheri (Rich) Revercomb; great grandchildren, Taylor, Dorian, Kailynn, Landon, Brooklyn and Brianna; step great grandchildren, Rickie Fitch Jr. and Misty Brown; great great grandchildren, Cayden, Arianna, Jasmine, David, Aiden and Kylee; brother, Jack (Barbara) Kelley; nephews, Patrick, Kevin and Daniel Kelley; and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Capt. John J. Kelley and LaVerne Kelley; husband, Neil DurJava in 1994; son, James DurJava in 1995; son-in-law, Carl Dye in 2013; nephews, John and Michael Kelley; and niece, Kathleen Kelley

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Secular Franciscans will conduct a wake service at the funeral home Sunday at 6:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 9:20 AM. The Marian Guild will lead the Rosary on Monday, 9:30 AM at the church prior to the Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain, Fr. Richard E. Hudak, Pastor, officiating.
