Mrs. Veronica Kapron

Lorain- Veronica Kapron (nee: Shuster), 90, passed away on October 15, 2012 surrounded by her beloved family.

Veronica was born on July 8, 1922 in Lorain, Ohio to her parents, Charles and Magdalene Shuster.

A lifelong resident of Lorain, she was a 1940 graduate of Lorain High School.  During World War II, her husband was called to duty and Veronica worked while raising her son, Jerry. She assumed her husband's position at Columbia Gas before helping our country build ships at the Lorain American Shipyards. While dedicating her life to raising her children, she also helped support her family by working as a teacher at St. John's School and helping to run the family owned grocery business, K & S Market, which was located on 17th St. and Washington Ave. in Lorain. Veronica also had a successful real estate career working for Reith Realtor and later Szarek Realtor, where she earned a reputation of dedication and honesty.

During the war, Veronica married her lifelong partner of 47 years, Stanley. She and 'Stash' had many friends and were active life-long members of Lorain's Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, the Lorain Polish Club, the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post #38 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Elyria. Veronica and Stanley served on many committees and helped on numerous fund raisers. They will always be remembered for being on the dance floor together, especially when polka music was being played. Stanley preceded Veronica in death, passing on August 2, 1988.   Incredibly, Veronica joined Stanley in heaven on what would have been his 94th birthday.

Veronica's greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

Veronica is survived by her children, Gerald (Wilhelmina) Kapron, Jeanne (Dennis) Cocco and Jack (Renee) Kapron; grandchildren, Jeff (Dorie) Kapron, Lynn (George) Gotsis, Jason (Kristen) Cocco, Jon (Amy) Cocco, Darcy (Bobby) Kramer and Dana (Josh) Eckard; great grandchildren, Zak and Max Kapron, Jack, Anna, Kate and Addison Cocco and Nikolas Gotsis; sisters, Mary Smith, Joanne Brumback and Rita Bennett; beloved niece, Margie Shuster and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
